The Bush Administration has deliberately let the 10 year old law banning assault weapons die for want of renewal. To paraphrase Kerry's Senate testimony after returning from Vietnam, how do you ask a victim to be the last to die for a selfish, vote-centered decision? Bush and the Congress bear full responsibility for people who die in drive-by shootings, stray fire, and perhaps terrorist action enabled by easier availability of AK 47's and Uzi's.
